Frequently Asked Questions

  • Making dietary and lifestyle changes are rarely a quick fix, and the focus should ideally be on long-term improvements, however timeframes will depend on what you need support with. At least 3 consultations held monthly provide a good basis for health changes, with maintenance consults as needed after that.

  • If you have access to your recent blood test results prior to your first appointment (or can request them from your doctor), it would be really helpful if you could email them to me before your appointment to go over. They may be able to point me in the direction of what is driving your health concern.

Often, however, the standard bloods ordered through your GP may not be comprehensive enough and it may be necessary to order more detailed ones. We will discuss this in your consult.

  • This ultimately depends on why you have come to see me. It is generally recommended that you have at least 2-3 consults over a few months (maybe more, or less), so that you have the opportunity to make changes and see improvements and ultimately help keep you accountable to get the best results! Maintenance consults can then be booked as and when needed.

  • No, any supplements recommended for you will be an additional cost, however, we can work within your budget and focus on a food first approach if more suitable. Supplements are not always needed! Sometimes the quickest way to see improvements is through simple dietary changes.

The exception to this is when trying to conceive through to postpartum when a good quality prenatal supplement will be recommended to prevent birth defects, set a good foundation and help rebuild nutrient stores postpartum.

  • As a Clinical Nutritionist, I am interested in how I can improve your macronutrient (energy, protein, carbohydrate, fat and fibre) and micronutrient (vitamins, minerals) intake, identify any nutritional deficiencies using pathology, get a comprehensive understanding of your signs and symptoms and provide you with a personalised nutrition and supplement prescription, along with lifestyle changes such as improving sleep and reducing stress.

I do not utilise herbal tonics as a naturopath does, however many conditions can be dramatically improved by making simple diet and lifestyle changes alone.

  • The conditions I have listed on my website are my focus areas of treatment. I have a particular passion for supporting mothers in the postpartum years, during perimenopause and with mental wellbeing such as anxiety, stress and low mood.

In saying that I have experience in many aspects of nutrition, from women’s health through to gut health, so if you have a health issue that you are not sure I can help with, feel free to book in for a free discovery call to discuss this with me. I will tell you if I think another provider is better suited to your needs - your time and money are precious after all.
